First off Youth Ben Jones Jersey , I must be clear. Now, if you're still here after the reading the first twenty words - thank you.Walker is hands down QB Marcus Mariota's favorite and most reliable target. The chemistry the two have established has taken years. Mariota is more in sync with Walker than any other player on the roster. That is a given. The offense as a whole will miss Walker's play-making ability, offensive production and radiating intensity. His skill-set is unmatched and OC Matt LaFleur knows that he lost a crucial offensive weapon - as does the rest of the team. However, Mariota is now forced to evolve and progress as a quarterback in arguably the most uncomfortable way possible. His safety blanket is out for the season. Training WheelsThe new offensive system still has the training wheels on as Mariota and company are still trying to work out the kinks. Walker served as an additional set of training wheels. As the season progresses, Mariota will not have the luxury of finding Walker during moments where his hesitancy kicks in or play-processing stalls. He'll be forced to look elsewhere. With WR Rishard Matthews still getting up to speed with the new offense and in football shape, Mariota's second most reliable target will not be able to be his go to guy - at least not yet. LaFleur, as some expected, dialed up some WR Corey Davis plays early. Davis was targeted a lot in Miami - as a number one receiver should be. With Walker out of the picture and Matthews still behind the curve, Davis will see more targets and have more opportunities to become who the team expects him to be.Uncomfortable a Necessity Change should be uncomfortable. In Mariota's case, changing his Pro Bowl tight end to a second year player is just that. For most quarterbacks in the league, having a reliable tight end is essential to building and extending offensive drives. Having a Pro Bowl tight end is much sweeter because - on top of having the chain-mover - there is always an opportunity to score points through a play making tight end. Saying it will be hard for Mariota to adjust to life without Walker is a huge understatement. Fortunately, Mariota's showed through media pressers that he believes in his guys on the roster. Constantly, Mariota expresses how grateful he is for the skill-players on the team. He displays an air of confidence will motivate his guys in a Walker-less offense. It may be painful to watch over the course of the next few weeks as Walker not easy to replace. At least, not by one player. But http://www.titansauthorizedshops.com/authentic-brett-kern-je rsey , replacing Walker's total production may not be out of reach. RB Dion Lewis doesn't play tight end, but he proved he can be a big time contributor on offense. Like Walker, he is a chain-mover and a play-maker. He may even be a tone-setter. The rapport Mariota develops with Lewis will be fun to watch this season.Does Evolving Mean Winning? No. That's the simple answer. Mariota evolving as a player and absorbing/executing a new offensive system could happen with the team still losing games. The more the seasons moves forward, the more chances Mariota will have to build relationships with second year weapons. Davis, Smith and Taywan Taylor are all second year options that Mariota must use. Even Tajae Sharpe could be considered a second year option due to missing all of last season. Mariota's chemistry building will be a work in progress and learning a new offense along the way will not make matters easier. But, it could make Mariota better in the long-haul. If Mariota can move past his most recent injury (which, by most accounts, he will) his evolution starts immediately. LaFleur will continue to adjust the offense to minimize the loss of production Walker would have provided by finding ways to get production elsewhere. Mariota will be a key in helping out with that process.Matthews is probably a few weeks away from providing the offensive impact he would have if fully healthy. That will aid in the amount of "trial and error" moments there are for Mariota and his young set of pass catchers. The running backs will be leaned on heavily during the first half of the season and both proved to be effective. As the offense itself evolves, so will Marcus. It just may be a little painful to watch. The long-term results could outweigh the short-term success. It's hard to overstate how important this win was for the 2018 Titans. The FiveThirtyEight study I quoted earlier this week found that teams that start 1-1 make the playoffs 41% of the time versus just 12% for 0-2 teams. In addition to staying out of an 0-2 hole, the Titans got a critical division win despite being without their starting left tackle, starting right tackle, backup swing tackle, starting tight end, and starting quarterback. This team showed incredible grit and toughness in the face of adversity coming off one of the most soul-crushing losses in recent memory. It would have been easy to make excuses and feel sorry for themselves in this one Tajae Sharpe Jersey , but they didn't do that, even when the Texans put up 17 unanswered to take the lead in the 4th quarter. They remained composed and fought their way back to get the win. Titans fans should be proud of the way this team responded to a tough week.Without further ado, here are the winners and losers from Titans 20, Texans 17: WinnersMike VrabelThis one is easy. Vrabel stole a game his team had no business winning today with great coaching. First, he made the right call sitting Marcus Mariota. http://www.sndpic.com//nike_nfl_jerseys/nike_tennessee_titans/nike_titans_1142.jpg
While we certainly don't know everything about how close he might have been today, I'd say the fact that he was in uniform as the backup quarterback tells us he was close. However, with reports Saturday night and Sunday morning that Mariota was still struggling to grip the ball, it's safe to say that he probably wasn't going to be his normal self if he did play and another week of rest without putting himself in harm's way could do him a lot of good from a long term perspective. Players from both teams heaped credit upon Vrabel after the game with center Ben Jones giving his coach the game ball. The gameplan included some wrinkles too. A fake punt and an out-of-nowhere appearance from the wildcat package among the most prominent. The Titans coaching staff managed the game perfectly, protecting their backup tackles and coaxing a largely mistake-free performance from their backup quarterback. Things got a little bumpy in the second half when the offense turned in three consecutive three and outs, but they were able to move the ball effectively when it mattered the most without asking too much of Blaine Gabbert. Vrabel was aggressive with the fake punt call and converting two 4th downs (including one at their own 32-yard line). The Titans have never had an aggressive head coach so seeing some of the gutsy calls that Vrabel made against Houston was a welcome change from the Mularkey Era. It was just a fantastic job of coaching by Mike Vrabel and his staff this week.Blaine GabbertGabbert's stats weren't great in this game. He finished 13 of 20 for 117 yards and a touchdown, but he played turnover-free football and made a few clutch plays when the team needed it late. There is no quarterback controversy to be sure. Marcus Mariota gives this team the best chance to win, but Gabbert was able to get his job done today in a huge spot against a quality defense. Corey Davis and Taywan TaylorThe Titans two second year receivers made a big impact against the Texans. Davis was the team's target leader for a second straight week and turned his 7 targets in to 5 catches for 55 yards. That may not sound that impressive, but he had two huge catches on the Titans game winning drive and is starting to look the part of a No. 1 receiver. A week after getting just 9 snaps on offense, Taywan Taylor was a much bigger part of the gameplan against Houston. The former 3rd round pick from Western Kentucky caught 3 passes for 32 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown was a thing of beauty as Taylor took a simple screen and made multiple Texans miss on a weaving run to the endzone.I'm a big believer in Taylor's talent and I think plays like this will make it harder and harder for the coaches to keep him off the field. Taylor needs to be getting 5+ touches every game.Jurrell Casey Authentic Ryan Succop Jersey , Kamalei Correa, and Harold LandryThe Titans pass rush did a nice job most of the game keeping Deshaun Watson from getting comfortable in the pocket. They ended up collecting 4 sacks and adding 9 QB hits along with pressures on other snaps. Casey led the group with 2 sacks and added another hit and a tackle for loss in what was an excellent game for the Titans star defensive tackle. We are used to Casey being great at this point, but that doesn't mean should stop appreciating it. Kamalei Correa followed up a good Titans debut in Miami with another good performance this week. He got a sack for a second straight game and added 2 tackles for loss and 2 QB hits. Correa has already been worth the 2019 6th round pick that Jon Robinson gave up for him just before roster cut down day, but based on the early returns I think he has a chance to turn in to a long term piece for the Titans at outside linebacker.Speaking of long term pieces, Harold Landry made his debut today and despite finishing the game without a tackle or sack, it was hard not to notice him out there. He did have 2 QB hits and was constantly in the Texans backfield helping make plays like this.Landry made such an impact that the Texans were actively chipping against him on almost every snap by the end of the game. This guy is going to be a stud and if the Titans can continue to develop him, Correa and undrafted rookie Sharif Finch, they could be set at this position for years to come. (Speaking of Finch, he was active over Aaron Wallace against Houston and that gives us an idea of how much they like their UDFA find.)Offensive Line Coach Keith Carter and Offensive Coordinator Matt LaFleurThe Titans are two games in to the 2018 season and the offensive line has allowed just 1 sack despite being without star tackles Taylor Lewan and Jack Conklin for the majority of snaps. Credit is certainly due to reserve tackles Kevin Pamphile, Dennis Kelly, and Tyler Marz for coming through when called upon, but when an entire unit is playing at this level, their coaches are doing something right. The Titans running game never really got on track against Houston, but they were able to grind out a semi-effective ground attack despite the fact that the Texans clearly did not fear Gabbert beating them over the top. Carter is doing a fantastic job getting his offensive linemen ready and LaFleur is putting his players in a position to succeed with his offensive gameplans. Dane CruikshankCruikshank was billed as a potential special teams ace when the Titans drafted him in the 5th round and he is already showing flashes of that just two games in to his NFL career. Obviously Youth Quinton Spain Jersey , he made the catch on the beautiful fake punt pass from Kevin Byard that resulted in a tone-setting touchdown early in the game, but he also added a fantastic tackle on punt coverage later in the game.LosersMalcolm ButlerIt's hard to have many losers after a win like that, but Butler gave up a long touchdown catch for the second straight week, only this time he didn't get the big interception to balance out his ledger. His reputation as a boom or bust corner has been lived up to early on, but I'm sure the Titans would like to limit the busts to less than one per week. Rashaan EvansEvans didn't do anything wrong against the Texans, he just didn't do anything at all. I'll have to wait for the official snap counts to come out, but I was looking for No. 54 all day and never saw him step between the lines despite being one of the 46 active players. It will be interesting to see why Evans never got on the field. Maybe the Titans wanted to be extra careful with his hamstring or maybe they just didn't feel like he was ready. Whatever the reason, Evans' development seems like it isn't where the Titans would like it to be at this point. Jadeveon ClowneyClowney was inactive today as he deals with back and elbow issues, but he still managed to get called for a key penalty. Clowney taunted Titans tight end Luke Stocker after he got knocked down near the Texans sideline, drawing a 15-yard penalty that set the Titans on their way to the game tying field goal. This comes less than a year after he talked trash to LeShaun Sims moments before the Titans corner made the game-clinching interception. Maybe Clowney should try doing more walking and less talking when he visits Nashville. On second thought, keep doing you Clowney.

Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes and LeGarrette Blount ran for two scores Customized Philadelphia Eagles Jerseys , lifting the Lions to a 31-23 win over the Packers on Sunday.Detroit (2-3) earned a win it desperately needed under first-year coach Matt Patricia, going into its bye week."We get two weeks to 10 days to sit on whatever happens," said Stafford, who was 14 of 26 for 183 yards with two TDs and no turnovers. "And, it feels a whole lot better with a win."Green Bay (2-2-1) was doomed because veteran Mason Crosby had the worst game of his life and two-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers lost two fumbles for just the third time in his 14-year career."We just couldn't overcome all the things we did wrong," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said. "We did some good things in the second half, but you can't dig yourself that kind of hole."Crosby missed a career-high four field goals in one game and failed to make an extra point to boot. He connected on a field goal with 2 seconds left, but that wasn't of much consolation after his poor performance."I look back and I'm thinking, in my childhood, in high school, this is definitely one of the worst ones," said Crosby, the first NFL kicker to miss four field goals in a game since 2010.Detroit recovered an onside kick to seal the win, preventing Rodgers from getting another chance at a game-winning Hail Mary in Detroit like the one he threw in 2015.The Lions built a big lead in the first half, picking up where they left off in their last home game, a 16-point win over the New England Patriots.Blount had a pair of 1-yard TD runs in the first quarter and Stafford's 8-yard pass to Marvin Jones late in the second quarter put Detroit up 24-0.Patricia, though, didn't think the Lions' cushion was comfortable."Unfortunately, I've seen that quarterback on the other side there crush a lot of leads pretty quickly and come back," said Patricia, a former Patriots defensive coordinator.Rodgers, missing injured receivers Randall Cobb and Geronimo Allison, threw short TDs to rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Lance Kendricks in the third to pull the Packers within 10 points.Stafford answered with a 5-yard TD pass to Kenny Golladay early in the fourth quarter to give Detroit a 31-14 lead."It was big to chew up some time to give our defense a little bit of a rest and come away with some points," Stafford said.Rodgers connected with Davante Adams on a 12-yard throw for a third TD pass, but Crosby hit the left upright on the extra point to let the Lions keep an 11-point lead midway through the fourth quarter. Adams has scored in 10 straight road games, equaling a league record set by Tommy McDonald of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1959 to 1961.Rodgers was 32 of 52 for 442 yards 鈥?the second-highest total of his career 鈥?with three TD passes."We've been a one-half team all year," he said. "We need to do something about that."STREAKINGThe Lions, who didn't face Rodgers last year, have won three straight in the series for the first time the 1990-91 seasons.SOUND STRATEGYDetroit had success on defense, going after Rodgers with just four players and dropping seven into coverage. Rodgers held onto the ball to wait for receivers to get open, but they couldn't, and it led to three sacks and his two fumbles."They gave up rushers in order to extend plays, and they got some turnovers out of it," McCarthy said. "We're usually successful in those situations, but they did some good things."INJURY REPORTPackers: LB Nick Perry (ankle) and CB Kevin King (chin) were hurt during the game.Lions: RB Kerryon Johnson, who ran for 70 yards on 12 carries, went out in the fourth quarter after appearing to hurt his right ankle. CB Teez Tabor (groin) and CB Jamal Agnew (knee) also left the game with injuries.UP NEXTPackers: Host San Francisco on Monday, Oct. 15.Lions: Off until playing at Miami on Oct. 21.Eagles News: Alshon Jeffery says "ain't nobody f***ing with us" Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...The day after: Alshon Jeffery's message gives Eagles the edge they need - The AthleticJeffery is a man of few words, but teammates still consider him a leader. After Thursday night's 34-13 win over the Giants www.authenticsphiladelphiaeagles.com , Jeffery explained how he tries to inspire confidence in the offense. "Man, just always just tell 'em ain't nobody fucking with us," Jeffery said. "That's what I always say." It is what he always says. Jeffery said it last year after a win over the Cowboys. And he said it this year too before the season even started. Jeffery was still coming back from a shoulder injury, but before the opener, he addressed the entire offense with a simple message: Let's start the season by beating the Falcons and finish the season in Atlanta. "That's the ultimate goal," Jeffery said Thursday night at his locker. "We got a taste of the Super Bowl. Why not do it again?"Eagles v. Giants: 19 winners, losers, and I dunnos - BGNCarson Wentz: Honestly, I'm kinda glad that Giants rookie running back Saquon Barkley had himself such an evening. He took the biggest chunk of the NFL attention, while Carson's dominant performance went rather quietly by. Carson's placement looks as good, if not better than it did last season. His mobility is clearly back to pre-injury levels. HIs mental processing is back to last season's levels, though there's still growth to be had there. His improvisation and willingness to extend plays took a step forward. His risk management is still wild and still awesome. The real 2017 MVP is back. The Kist & Solak Show #26: Eagles Make the Giants Quit - BGN RadioMichael Kist and Benjamin Solak are happy to bring to you a recap of the Eagles dominating win over the hapless Giants and detail everything that went right for the Eagles in what hopefully is the bounce back game they've been searching for.Handing out 10 awards from the Eagles-Giants game - PhillyVoiceDuring the Eagles' two-game skid, one of the bright spots was the play of Wentz, who is proving each and every week that he is very much still a fantastic quarterback. Against the Giants, Wentz probably had his best game of the season, going 26 of 36 for 278 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 1 sack, and a passer rating of 122.2. He also had a 2017-esque highlight reel play.Fun Night - Iggles BlitzThe Eagles won. They won big, 34-13. And the game wasn't even that close. A lot of things went right for the Eagles. The defense came up with a takeaway on the first drive and that led to a short TD drive. A good PR by DeAndre Carter put the offense in good position later and the offense scored again to go up 14-3. The Eagles were making plays on offense, defense and STs. The Eagles dominated the line of scrimmage. Eli Manning was under pressure all night (4 sacks, many more hits). He really struggled, making bad decisions and even worse throws. The Giants offense looked completely inept鈥xcept for one guy. Saquon.Carson Wentz returns to dominant MVP level as Eagles smother Giants - ESPNPhiladelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz looked like his old MVP-caliber self Thursday night, slicing through the New York Giants defense to post three touchdowns, no interceptions and a 122 quarterback rating as the Eagles rolled past their division rival 34-13, improving to 3-3 in the process. It was clear Wentz was back to form right out of the gate. Facing a third-and-7 at the Giants' 13-yard line on the Eagles' first possession, Wentz rolled out right, extended the play and then threw across his body and into the back of the end zone to a tightly-covered Alshon Jeffery for the touchdown. "They always say, don't throw late over the middle, but with Carson those rules kind of go out the window," tight end Zach Ertz said. "You kind of just let him do his thing."'Tonight I Think You Saw Eagles Football' - PE.com.http://www.sndpic.com//nike_nfl_jerseys/nike_philadelphia_eagles/nike_eagles_1345.jpg
Six games in, the Philadelphia Eagles we all expected from Day 1 showed up on Thursday night at MetLife Stadium and blew the doors off the New York Giants, 34-13. It was a complete 60-minute performance from the Eagles to even their record at 3-3 as the team heads into a mini-bye weekend that everyone will savor. The Eagles played terrific football in every phase of the game. A Kamu Grugier-Hill interception on the Giants' first possession set the tone, and the Eagles' offense turned that takeaway into seven points. Philadelphia led 14-3 after one quarter, 24-6 at the half, and then just controlled the clock and played physical, bruising defense to win the second half. What was different for the Eagles on Thursday night after five up-and-down games, the last two of them tough losses Philadelphia Eagles T-Shirt , playing on the road on a short week?Refocused, NFL Week 6: Philadelphia Eagles 34, New York Giants 13 - PFFWhile they ultimately didn't need it, the Eagles production on the ground was more due to volume than efficiency. Philadelphia didn't surrender many opportunities for negatives plays, but they rarely managed to open up much running room for Wendell Smallwood and Corey Clement, who combined to average just 3.2 yards per carry.Eagles' secondary relished opportunity to 'shut that up' against Giants - NBCSP"I feel like every time things go bad, it's always the secondary's fault," Ronald Darby said. "So we just took it upon ourselves to shut that up and go out there and make plays, and that's what our key objective was." Beckham managed just 44 receiving yards with a long gain of 12 yards, most of it in garbage time, and although Giants rookie Saquon Barkley had a brilliant evening with 229 yards from scrimmage, the Eagles' secondary had by far its strongest game of the season. Eli Manning, who's thrown more touchdowns against the Eagles than any QB in history, didn't throw a touchdown, got picked off by Kamu Grugier-Hill and had nine passes knocked down, four by Darby. Manning looked old and washed up. The Eagles' secondary looked fast, aggressive and confident.Eagles RB Jay Ajayi had insurance policy to protect from injury - NFL.comHowever, according to his business manager Josh Sanchez, Ajayi bought a loss-of-value insurance policy this past year (and the year before) to protect him against exactly what ended up happening. Ajayi was valued as a significant free agent based on the policy. If the injury takes his market down to a point where he would be a lower-level free agent, he can receive a maximum payout $5 million net -- after taxes. In other words, if Ajayi's free-agent value goes down, the policy will help make up the difference. Let's say he's valued as being able to earn a four-year, $16-million contract before the injury. But now, he ends up earning just $8 million over four years.Giants vs. Eagles: 4 things we learned as Giants' season implodes in blowout loss to Eagles -Big Blue ViewWill Hernandez is going to be a very good player. That is the extent of the optimism with respect to the Giants' offensive line. Eli Manning was under siege throughout the game and was simply getting destroyed by the fourth quarter. The Giants did get a decent push in the run game, usually as a result of Hernandez's blocks, and one great block from Sterling Shepard. However, after a mid-game adjustment, the running backs were once again being met in the backfield by Eagles' defenders. Giants' fans celebrated when Ereck Flowers was released, wiping away the last holdover of Jerry Reese's offensive line. However, that also means that THIS offensive line is Dave Gettleman's, and he bears the responsibility for it. For all the (deserved) criticism of the Giants' offensive line in 2017, it is somehow worse now and that is on Gettleman. Unfortunately, it's a problem the Giants will have to live with for the rest of the year. There's Plenty of Time to Fix the Dallas Cowboys' Struggling Offense - The MMQBI'm never saying never with the Howie Roseman-led Eagles--they kick tires exhaustively and on everyone and everything. But I'm not sure Le'Veon Bell was ever a real thing (though they did call Pittsburgh), nor do I think that they're banging down Buffalo's door to get LeSean McCoy (they did call the Bills too). Could it happen with Jay Ajayi down? Sure. Is it likely? No. In fact, I'm told the Eagles don't even view running back as their first or second biggest concern. The first one is over how one offensive tackle being beat up pretty good and the other is underachieving. The second issue is at corner, where Philly's been torched. Can Sidney Jones make leap? It'd be a godsend for Philly if he did. And it'd sure help if they got some more out of Jason Peters and Lane Johnson too.Why did Odell Beckham Jr. leave the field early before halftime? - SB NationOdell Beckham Jr. is frustrated with the New York Giants offense and hasn't hidden that fact. He spoke honestly about the issues he has with the team in an interview on ESPN a week ago. So it raised eyebrows when cameras showed Beckham walking off the field in the final seconds of the first half of a Week 6 game against the Philadelphia Eagles instead of sticking around for the last play....Social Media Information:BGN Facebook Page: Click here to like our pageBGN Twitter: Follow @BleedingGreenBGN Manager: Brandon Lee Gowton: Follow @BrandonGowtonBGN Radio Twitter: Follow @BGN_Radio

The Houston Texans wanted to honor their late owner and founder Robert "Bob" McNair www.houstontexansteamonline.com , who died last week at age 81.Deshaun Watson threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Texans set a franchise record with their eighth straight victory, 34-17 over the Tennessee Titans."The one thing Mr. McNair wanted was a winner," J.J. Watt said. "All he wanted was a winner. He wanted to win every week. He wanted a team that could win and bring a championship to this city. So to be able to win eight straight and to be able to win tonight for him was good, and we're going to try to keep doing that for him."Demaryius Thomas scored his first two touchdowns with Houston and Lamar Miller ran for 162 yards, including a 97-yard TD.The Texans (8-3) also saluted McNair by wearing decals in the shape of a football with white block letters bearing his initials of "RCM." With that tribute on the back of their helmets, they became the first team in NFL history to win eight games in a row after starting 0-3. They lead the AFC South by two games over Indianapolis."We need to try and keep getting better," coach Bill O'Brien said. "We need to take the mantra that we're going to improve every day."The Texans trailed by 10 early before reeling off 27 straight points.Houston receiver DeAndre Hopkins said there was no panic after the team fell behind in the first quarter."We've been down 0-3 as a record, so being down 10-0 on the board is nothing to this team," he said.Tennessee (5-6) finally scored again on a 48-yard reception by Corey Davis late in the third quarter, but the second TD by Thomas 鈥?this one for 10 yards 鈥?made it 34-17 with just more than eight minutes left.Marcus Mariota, who missed the second half of last week's game with a stinger, was 22 of 23 for 303 yards and two touchdowns. He completed his first 19 passes before an incompletion with just more than a minute remaining.Miller's 97-yard breakaway in the second quarter made it 21-10. It was the longest run in franchise history and the longest in the NFL since his dash of the same length for a touchdown on Dec. 28, 2014, with the Dolphins. He's the only player in league history with two career rushing touchdowns of 95 yards or longer. The Titans went ahead 3-0 on their first possession Houston Texans T-Shirt , and Jonnu Smith had a career-long 61-yard catch-and-run touchdown that extended their lead less than halfway through the first quarter.Houston got going after that, cutting the lead to 10-7 when Thomas grabbed his first touchdown since being traded from Denver on Oct. 30, a 12-yard grab with about six minutes left in the quarter.Watson put the Texans on top when he scrambled 15 yards for a score on the first play of the second quarter.http://www.sndpic.com//nike_nfl_jerseys/nike_houston_texans/nike_texans_139.jpg
The Titans went for it on fourth-and-inches from the 3 later in the second, but tight end Luke Stocker was stopped for no gain."If you look at their goal-line defense and having a lot of good knowledge of what they do on the goal line, that's one play that had worked," Tennessee coach Mike Vrabel said. "It didn't work tonight and that's not the reason that we lost. That's a bad play."Miller's long TD , which helped Houston set a franchise record with 281 yards rushing, came on the next play. He took the handoff in the end zone and darted through a crowd of Titans before shedding one tackle and simply outrunning the rest of the defense."My whole mindset is just, don't get caught," Miller said. "Because ... when we played the Dolphins, I got caught, so all the guys were giving me a hard time. So that was the only thing on my mind."The Texans kicked a field goal as time expired in the second quarter to take a 24-10 lead into halftime.MCNAIR REMEMBEREDThe Texans honored McNair in a pregame ceremony, which included a video tribute to him while the Texas A&M Singing Cadets sang "Amazing Grace." While the video was played, one side of the video board displayed the words: "Faith Houston Texans Hats , Family, Philanthropy, Football."Painted on both 25-yard lines was a football with his initials that looked just like the decals on the players' helmets.Television cameras panned to several fans with signs honoring the late owner. One read: "McNair Never Forgotten."WATSON'S WORKWatson has thrown 39 touchdown passes in his first 18 career games, which is third in NFL history behind Hall of Famers Kurt Warner (44) and Dan Marino (40). His 70 yards rushing on Monday were a career best and he tied Matt Schaub's franchise record by throwing a TD pass in his 16th straight game.INJURIESTitans cornerback Malcolm Butler left in the second quarter to be evaluated for a concussion and did not return. ... Houston WR Keke Coutee didn't return after injuring his hamstring in the third quarter.UP NEXTTitans: Host the New York Jets on Sunday.Texans: Host the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. After winning their first two games to start the season, the Denver Broncos are tumbling, having won just one of their last six games to find themselves at 3-5. The Texans, on the other hand, are sailing on a five game win streak. One of the main reasons for this win streak is the Texans have played teams that have to run the ball to have success and can't spread the defense out to take advantage of Houston's issues at the cornerback position. This is another one of those games for the Texans today. The Broncos are second in rush offense DVOA and are going up against the best run defense in football. Case Keenum has already regressed to his mean of bad. So if the Broncos are going to make something happen in this one, it will probably be because of Bradley Chubb and Von Miller spinning, ripping, and speed rushing Juli'en Davenport and Kendall Lamm into oblivion and turning the pocket into a hornet's nest for Deshaun Watson. With the team now able to relax on their bye-week in Week 7 Youth Bud Dupree Jersey , they will hope to improve on their 3-2-1 record by beating the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens in Weeks 8 and 9. Something I did last season and I'm going to start again is the Black-and-gold Links article. This is an article where I take stories from quality news sources across the Internet and add them here for your viewing pleasure. I won't be posting the entire articles, but I'll link each story and author so that you can read the full article. Today we talk about members of the Steelers, today being Cameron Heyward, are far from done talking about Bengals' linebacker Vontaze Burfict. This is rather unusual for the team to talk about a player like this so long after a game, but combine the Steelers' bye week with the NFL doing nothing thus far regarding Burfict, and frustrations will boil over.Let's get to the news:Tim Benz: Steelers' Cameron Heyward hammers Vontaze BurfictBy: Time Benz, Pittsburgh Tribune-ReviewAre you trying to figure out what in the world Vontaze Burfict thinks when he goes head-hunting so often against the Pittsburgh Steelers? You aren't alone. The same thing is happening in Cincinnati.I'm not talking about discussion within Bengals media and fan circles. I'm talking about within the Bengals defensive huddle itself. The latest incident involved Burfict throwing an elbow at the head of Antonio Brown. This act -- unlike many of his other hits -- didn't draw Burfict a penalty flag. There has also been no word of a fine at the time of this writing.Steelers defensive end Cameron Heyward was on the WDVE morning show Thursday (100:30 mark of this link). He claimed that at least one key Bengals defensive player is struggling to make sense of why Burfict takes as many liberties as he does when he plays the Steelers.Heyward offered up this conversation he had with Cincinnati defensive lineman Geno Atkins:"I remember when we were at the Pro Bowl, talking to Geno Atkins about it," Heyward said. "And he was just like, 'I don't understand it.' They say Vontaze Burfict is a great guy. But when he plays us, he just likes to turn up."I asked Heyward to clarify if Atkins was questioning Burfict's loose-cannon nature."I don't think he understands it. I don't think his own teammates understand it," Heyward said. "Sometimes they are just flabbergasted as to what is going on. I'm not going to put words in Geno's mouth, but I don't think some of the players even understand what's going on. Let's be honest, who tackles like that any more in this league? That's poor tackling on any level. If that's the case, then that's poor on the Bengals for even teaching that."Analysis: Is Steelers' Mike Tomlin as bad at timeout management as we think?By: Tim Benz Womens T. J. Watt Jersey , Pittsburgh Tribune-ReviewStop me if you've heard this before 鈥?#8220;Mike Tomlin has to be the WORST coach in the NFL when it comes to wasting his timeouts!"You've probably listened to a Pittsburgh talk-show caller or two vent that opinion. But according to one set of numbers, that's not true. The data says Tomlin is not great, but he's average.Via ProFootballTalk.com , I found this post on a Packers-related site. It breaks downhow all NFL coaches manage the clock and use their timeouts. I'll let you click on the link to get the specific formula of how this is figured out, but here are the basics. The author, Paul Noonan, went through every team's timeout usage. He eliminated any timeouts burned by failed challenges or timeouts used in the last two minutes of the first half. Also, he discarded any timeouts cashed in during the last five minutes of the second half. The theory being, those were timeouts used strategically in an effort to manipulate the clock to gain extra possessions or extend potential game-tying or game-winning drives.I'd argue that the five-minute buffer is a little generous. But let's not quibble.Groin injury lingers for Steelers safety Morgan BurnettBy: Chris Adamski, Pittsburgh Tribune-ReviewMinutes before he was leaving UPMC Rooney Complex to catch a flight to enjoy the bye week, Morgan Burnett was talking with Garrett Giemont early Wednesday afternoon.Giemont, the Pittsburgh Steelers conditioning coordinator, was miming lunge-like exercises. He gave Burnett stretching bands and illustrations the veteran safety can use during the extended weekend to aid in his recovery from a stubborn groin injury."That's what the bye week is for," Burnett said minutes later. "To try to get healthy."Unfortunately for Burnett and the Steelers, that's what all too much of his first season in Pittsburgh has been for.Burnett has been limited to two games and seven full practices over the first six weeks of the regular season -- and there seems to be no end in sight for how long the Steelers' expected starting strong safety will remain out."I am just taking it day by day Womens Sean Davis Jersey ," Burnett said. "I don't know what's in the future for me."The nine-year veteran said there are no plans for surgery or any procedure to cure what seems to have turned into a chronic groin ailment."No," Burnett said, in what was a rare occasion of speaking to reporters over the past month. "I just take it day by day."After taking part in the first training camp practice July 26, he suffered an injured groin that kept him from practicing more often than not throughout the remainder of camp and the preseason.Burnett played in two of the four preseason games and was used in a limited role during the regular-season opener Sept. 9 at Cleveland. Rookie Terrell Edmunds started in his place, which was not exactly what the Steelers had in mind for Burnett when they gave him a three-year, $14.5 million contract in March to replace Mike Mitchell as their starting strong safety.Burnett started the Week 2 loss to Kansas City but hasn't played since.Over the past five practice weeks according to the Steelers' official injury reports, Burnett has practiced fully once and practiced on a limited basis three times. After none, though, has his groin responded in a way that allowed him to practice at all the following day."Any time you have any injury you want to try to get back as soon as possible," Burnett said, "but your body's got a mind of its own."I am confident in what I can do as a player," he said moments later, "it's just that as a competitor you always want to be out there and compete."In lieu of that, Burnett has been relegated to playing the role of mentor for Edmunds, the Steelers' first-round pick whose locker was placed next to Burnett's.Edmunds has been a willing prot茅g茅 Youth Joe Haden Jersey , saying he takes something from Burnett on an almost-daily basis."If he sees something in practice that I need to develop or get better at, he's going to help me out," Edmunds said. "And even at the game he is on the sidelines, so he is talking to us each and every play鈥? because he's a part of the team, too, so he tries to make sure that we're the best team out there." The Steelers allowed a season-low 275 yards to the Bengals in their 28-21 Week Six victory and they allowed a season-low 17 points in their Week Five win over the Falcons, so their defense has been taking steps in the right direction after a 1-2-1 start to the year. That turn has taken place at the same time as a drop in cornerback Artie Burns' playing time. He was on the field for nearly every snap in the first two weeks of the season and 68 percent of the snaps in Week Four, but was down to less than half the snaps against the Bengals last weekend.Burns said "it's their decision" and little else when asked about the change in fortunes on Tuesday, but defensive backs coach Tom Bradley was a bit more forthcoming. He said Burns needs to be more consistent and that he feels the team can fix the mental and physical errors that have hampered the corner this season."It's always a little bit of both as you get out there," Bradley said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "Playing corner is a little different. Confidence has a shelf life that needs to be replenished. But he'll be fine. ...We'll get him going here. I'm not worried about Artie now."The Steelers will return with games against the Browns and Ravens. They were 0-1-1 in their first meetings with their AFC North rivals and making their record 2-1-1 would be a big boost toward another division title. The playing time Burns gets against Cleveland will be a good sign of whether the Steelers think the 2016 first-round pick can help on that front. Custom New York Jets Jerseys

Hey,

LG
